You’re unique and so are your health needs. I'll work with you to design a personalised treatment program based on our innovative assessment process. I work with only one patient at a time and deliver all treatments personally, allowing an hour or more for each appointment

Appointment times are offered throughout the day and evening. It's comfortable, private and there's no waiting necessary. The clinic has a peaceful atmosphere in a convenient Punta Gorda location.
I'm the only therapist in Greensboro to have earned the advanced diploma from the McKenzie Institute. I'm also the area's leading expert on Stabilization Training in the rehabilitation of low back pain. I enthusiastically share my expertise through public speaking, professional workshops, consulting and mentoring.
Sometimes pain and stiffness can make exercises difficult to perform. Over the years, I have adopted and developed techniques that make moving easier and less painful. By placing my hands on a person's body and applying gentle pressure, the pain and stiffness can be decreased and the therapeutic exercises become easier to perform and more beneficial.
There are a variety of reasons why this may work. I think the most important reason is that these techniques can allow tense muscles that are guarding a painful area to relax. While muscle guarding may be of benefit during the very early time after an injury, it is often a reason why pain persists far too long. Manual therapy can "release" you to move more freely!
The McKenzie Method
The McKenzie Method is a comprehensive and logical step-by-step process to evaluate and treat spinal and extremity disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
These disorders include, but are not limited to, pain in the back, neck and extremities (i.e., shoulder, knee, ankle etc.), as well as issues associated with sciatica, sacroiliac joint pain, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, muscle spasms, headaches, and intermittent numbness in hands or feet.
The McKenzie Method assessment helps in determining which specific exercises work best for you and which ones you should avoid. McKenzie formulated treatment plans often work where other therapy and treatments have failed.

Restoring deficits in muscle control often turns into effective pain control. In randomized controlled studies, patients who underwent stabilization training were 12 times less likely to experience a recurrence of back pain.
Your most important step towards recovering from chronic pain is for you to understand your condition. The most important thing to understand is what you can do to help yourself. Research has shown that people with chronic pain actually move better as a result of learning why they hurt, as areas of the brain involved with the experience of pain "calm down" during routine exercises.
My goal as a physical therapist is for people to understand how they will benefit from doing the proper exercises and activities. In many cases it is as simple as finding a cause and effect.
